TRUMAN MIDDLE SCHOOL CTE EXPLORATORY
Class overview
Learning is more authentic and valued when you choose what you want to learn. With a focus on engineering, students learn about a variety of technology disciplines by leveraging their own motivation about a topic. It's a great starting point for students to investigate possible careers and preview some high school Career and Technical Education pathway choices.
BUFFET STYLE - PROJECT-BASED LEARNING
The curriculum is setup like a buffet. Every week, a new project is presented from a different pathway, just like a new dish at a buffet. After sampling from the buffet of lessons, students expand their learning by working on self-directed projects of their choosing. Students will be able to choose from topics such as robotics, flight/ drones, 3D modeling, video production, animation, web development, graphic design, electronics prototyping, microcontroller programming, and many more.
About me
I was home-schooled on a remote island off the coast of British Columbia by my grandparents. We had no telephone and no electricity. The nearest store was a day's travel by boat. I was technology-poor growing up.
